During the town’s Solstice celebrations next week, The Chapelkill Library Press is making an offering on behalf of the Maypole folk dance festival.
A Chapelkill Portmanteau will be given away free on Midsummer’s Eve. Described as, a collection of twisted folk tales and horror shorts to fascinate and unhinge, the book will be available here as a gift on June 23rd.

Chattox
Chattox, the caretaker’s cat has escaped from his cage in the basement and is believed to be at large somewhere in the library.
A series of bloody paw-prints was found in the “Self-Help” section (or 158.1 as its known in new money). The blood was tasted by the Head Librarian and found to be Welsh.

Bridge Night
Wednesday night sees the return of Chapelkill Library’s Bridge Night.
Once we’ve managed to get rid of Job Club we will set up four tables in the large print section to host the games. All players are welcome; novices and experts; men and women; old and young (40 years+, please).

Silver Jubilee
Chapelkill Council would like to thank everyone who attended the town’s special silver jubilee celebrations at the weekend.
It was a shame that the Queen was unable to attend as was originally planned, but she apparently had prior commitments in the London.
The role of the Queen was played by Malice Cups, Chapelkill’s very own Well-Dressing Queen. And a fine job she made of it...

Beach Closed
At last night’s extraordinary meeting of Chapelkill Council, the decision was reached to close the beach until further notice.
The move follows a recent spate of sightings of the creature including the above photograph by late holidaymaker Peggy Scratch.
