Silver Jubilee

Chapelkill Council would like to thank everyone who attended the town’s special silver jubilee celebrations at the weekend.

It was a shame that the Queen was unable to attend as was originally planned, but she apparently had prior commitments in the London.

The role of the Queen was played by Malice Cups, Chapelkill’s very own Well-Dressing Queen. And a fine job she made of it too.

Market Square played host to a special carnival which kindly donated all of its profits towards the maintenance of the church’s catacombs. Generous townsfolk spent a massive £56 of their own money on an array of stalls including the Witch-Dunker; Pull the Beard and Burning Peter.

We look forward to next year’s jubilee celebrations which promise to be bigger and better than ever before.
